Grace weakens to a Tropical Depression
San Ignacio, Cayo. Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Tropical Storm Grace’s demise in the Tropical Atlantic is supported by a wall of dry air and wind shear.
Satellite imagery this afternoon showed limited thunderstorms around the center of circulation.
Shearing is happening at the top and forecasters note that a low-level center is becoming exposed.
These are hostile conditions to say the least and Grace which has gone from a Tropical Storm to a Tropical Depression, is destined to become a remnant low and eventually a Tropical Wave before reaching the Lesser Antilles this weekend.
TD Grace at mid-afternoon on Tuesday was located 1,100 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and continues on a westerly track.
