Heavy axle load survey underway on George Price Highway
Camalote, CAYO. Wednesday, March 2, 2016. A traffic survey is being taken on the George Price Highway in Camalote village in the Cayo District.
From now until Thursday of next week – March 10 – personnel from the Ministry of Works and Transport will be taking stock of heavy construction and heavy transport vehicles that traverse the George Price Highway.
The vantage point for the survey is in front of the Camalote village Community Center and an official release says that the purpose of the exercise is to gather preliminary information regarding the range of heavy axle loads borne by Belize’s main highways.
The information gathered in the survey will be used to assist engineers in improving future highway design, improve the performance of routine & periodic maintenance and to expand its database of vehicular axle weights.
