High School student stabbed to death

A student attending the New Hope High School in Orange Walk town was stabbed and killed this evening. The victim has been identified as Darrel Wade, 18.

Reports are that Wade was walking on Stadium Street, Orange Walk around 3:30 pm, when he was attacked and stabbed in the right side of the chest.

A good Samaritan rushed the bleeding Wade to the Northern Regional Hospital, but he succumbed to the injury a short time later.

The police have not released any official report on the incident and a motive for the murder is not clearly established at this time.

The police investigation is ongoing and they are looking for a suspect in connection with this late afternoon homicide.
