Home invasion reported in Santa Elena town, Cayo
There was a home invasion in Santa Elena town in the Cayo district on Thursday night.
According to reports, the couple, whose name is being withheld for their safety, was at home around 8:30 pm on Thursday when a pair of men kicked in their door.
Reports say one of the intruders was armed with a firearm while the other carried what looked like a dagger.
The victim, a contract with one of the utility companies was reportedly pistol whipped in the head and the robbers made off with over $1,500.
Although police have one suspect in custody, none of the weapons used in the home invasion have been retrieved by police.
Authorities are now searching for the second suspect in connection with Thursday night’s home invasion in Santa Elena town.
