Hon. Michael Finnegan issues public apology
Twenty four hours after he said he saw no reason for an apology, the Honorable the member for Mesopotamia division and Minister of Housing Mr. Michael Finnegan has made an about turn.
In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, Mr. Finnegan said that “having taken advice from my Party Leader who felt that I had gone a little too far in my remarks made in the House of Representatives on Wednesday 7th August 2013” he was in agreement that “I went too far in the heat of the debate.”
The Mesopotamia representative’s statement went on to say: “I wish therefore to publicly apologize to the citizenry of Belize, to the Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives and to my colleague members on both sides of the aisle and further, to request that the Honorable Member for Belize Rural Central apologize for the public castigation she gave to the Sergeant at Arms on a matter which could have been addressed privately with the Honorable Speaker.”

Now I don’t see anything honorable in that man. He is such a disgrace especially in the House of Representative. Showing that he was dragged up.

A true apology should come from one’s heart not from the advise of others.

I don’t know if you all don’t see it, but as far as I am concerned I sense no sort of apology to the aggrieved part, the Hon Dolores B. Garcia…or to anyone else. It was so disgusting to see that both the PM and the DPM were taking this incident as a big joke. what their behaviour showed me was that they were all in this together. What a disgrace from elected representatives. I will reserve my right to say “leaders” or ‘honourable” unless the meaning of both words have changed recently.
