Man arrested after marijuana seeds found in his luggae at the PGIA
An American man residing in San Ignacio town has been arrested and charged after authorities found “crushed cannabis seed” in his luggage.
John Daniel Downward, 49, whose given address is Martin Galvez Street in San Ignacio town, was detained at the Phillip Goldson International Airport on Wednesday afternoon after Customs personnel suspected he was carrying marijuana.
Downward was handed over to police. Authorities say a search of Downward and his luggage was carried out which resulted in the discovery of “crushed cannabis seeds in a Ziploc bag.”
Downwas was then escorted to the police station where the suspected drug was weighed in his presence and it tipped the scale at 460.1 grams.
Police then arrested and charged John Daniel Downward for the crime of importation of a controlled drugs, namely 460.1 grams of suspected cannabis.
