Man arrested for “thiefing” a boy’s tennis shoes
By Patrick E. Jones on July 25, 2013
A 19 year old Belize City man has been charged for the crime of stealing from a 12 year old boy.
The boy reported to police that he was on the basketball court at the Buttonwood Bay Park on Tuesday afternoon when he was accosted by two men on bicycles.
One of the men ordered the boy to take off his tennis shoes valued at $250.
Fearing for his life, the 12 year old complied and handed his Jordan brand tennis shoes to his assailant, who casually rode off with the stolen tennis shoes.
Police say they have since recovered the stolen tennis shoes and have arrested and charged Max Orosco, 19, a resident of Victoria Street for the crime of theft.
