Man assaulted on passenger bus continues to recuperate
Esperanza, CAYO. Thursday, January 28, 2016. TNC: A man who was assaulted on board a passenger bus in Esperanza village on Wednesday continues to recuperate from his injuries.
Conrad Thomas was accosted by a man he reportedly had a misunderstanding with earlier on Wednesday afternoon.
Initially, it was thought that Thomas had been shot, but police are still trying to determine if that was the case.
Today, the deputy commander of the San Ignacio Police Assistant Superintendent Reymundo Reyes gave TNC News an update.
According to San Ignacio police, while passengers on the bus and Conrad Thomas are saying that a firearm was used in the assault, the man in custody has given a confession statement, saying that he did not use a gun in the assault.
The suspect in police custody is a man from the Central Farm, but we are withholding his name because no charges have been brought against him as yet and the investigation of the incident is still ongoing.
