Man dies hours after being knocked down
San Ignacio, CAYO. Wednesday, March 16, 2016. A man from the village of Duck Run 2 died this afternoon, about eight hours after he was knocked down in Spanish Lookout.
Alejandro Padilla, 88, had left his home in Duck Run 2 enroute to San Ignacio town, reportedly to pay his light bill, when he was knocked down just after 8 o’clock this morning.
According to a family member, Padilla was standing up on the side of the road by one of the gas stations waiting for the bus that would take him into San Ignacio, but a car that was reversing, knocked him down.
Padilla was taken to the Western Regional Hospital for medical treatment and later transferred to Karl Heusner Memorial in Belize City where he died.
