Mayor Earl Trapp unhurt in traffic collision
San Ignacio, CAYO. Tuesday, December 26, 2017. The Mayor of San Ignacio/Santa Elena Earl Trapp has confirmed that he is okay following a road traffic accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway before midday today.
Mayor Trapp and his wife were traveling from Sarteneja village (Corozal) when upon reaching between miles 48 and 49 on the Phillip Goldson Highway there was a collision with a small car.
Reports are that one person who was in the car, which was extensively damaged, was critically injured and remains hospitalized.
Farm produce which was in Mayor Trapp’s vehicle were strewn all over the highway.
In a social media post on Facebook tonight, Mayor Trapp wrote: “To all my families and friends that sent a text, called or a message of concern to find out of my well being at the time of the accident. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for your words of comfort and empathy. My wife and I are ok but the other person involved in the accident is in a critical condition. Kindly join us as we pray that God will shower him with his hands of heal allowing a speedy recovery. God bless him and his family.”
