Mike Espat takes Oath of Office
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Monday, November 30, 2020. Two weeks after his colleagues went to Belize House in Belmopan to be sworn in, Toledo East area representative Michael Espat today went to the Governor General’s office to take the Oath of Office.
Espat was sidelined just after the November 11, 2020 General Elections due to COVID-19.He was hospitalized in Belize City after suffering symptoms that required further medical assistance.
With his swearing in today, Mike Espat now takes up his post in the Briceño Cabinet as the Junior Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment.
He joins the other Junior Minister, Christopher Coye in the office of Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, John Briceño.
Briceño’s People’s United Party (PUP) was swept into office on November 11, 2020 in a lop-sided General Election result that toppled the United Democratic Party (UDP) that was seeking a fourth consecutive term in office.
