Minister of Defence continues nationwide tour
The purpose of the Minister’s tour is to assess the state of readiness and the level of efficiency of the force in executing its various functions.
A government press release today noted that Minister Saldivar toured BDF bases in the Corozal and Orange Walk districts.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Commander of the BDF Colonel Steven Ortega and other officials of the Ministry of Defence.
In Corozal, Minister Saldivar and his team stopped in at Consejo, Free Zone Area, 4 Miles Lagoon, Patchakan, San Victor and Eyles Camp; and in Orange Walk, they visited Douglas, San Roman, Campechito, Santa Cruz and Blue Creek.
The government release explains that Minister Saldivar began his nationwide tour in early September, when he visited BDF Headquarters at Price Barracks, the Air Wing at Phillip Goldson International Airport, and Militia Hall in Belize City.
The next leg of his tour will take him to installations in the Cayo District.
