By Patrick E. Jones on May 22, 2016
San Ignacio, CAYO. Sunday, May 22, 2016. San Ignacio police have added 33 pounds of marijuana and a sawed-off shotgun to their evidence room under the title of “found property.”
The items were taken in early on Friday morning as officers conducted mobile patrol between miles 68 and 69 on the George Price Highway.
The official police report says that officers found a large bag with “green leafy vegetable substance” and the 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun near the police booth that is across from a resort in the area.
A smaller bag with marijuana was also found and taken in by the police.
No one was in the area at the time of the 5 am discovery on Friday.
