Belize City, BELIZE. Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Belize City Police are looking for a lone gunman who carried out a ‘home invasion’ attack on Holy Saturday night that claimed the life of one man.

24 year old Alwayne Cherrington sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead about a half an hour later at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Initial police investigation shows that Cherrington was at a friend’s house on Lopez Street in Belize City around 7 o’clock on Saturday night, when a lone gunman entered the house and fired several shots, hitting Cherrington multiple times.

After the shooting, the gunman left the premises and disappeared into the night.

Investigations continue.
