Murder victim identified as Bullet Tree Falls villager
Bullet Tree Falls village, Cayo. Thursday, April 9, 2015. Within hours of the publication of a photograph of a man who died while undergoing medical treatment, police in San Ignacio got a positive identification.
He is Aurelio Montero, a resident of Bullet Tree Falls village, Cayo.
Montero was found in an unconscious state on the morning of Easter Sunday at the Cayo Welcome Center in San Ignacio town.
He had head injuries and was taken first to the San Ignacio Community Hospital and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police have two men in custody pending investigations and authorities are looking for a third suspect who remains on the run.
Police in San Ignacio town have confirmed the name of the deceased and say that family members have been notified and they likewise have confirmed the identify.
A motive for the killing has not yet been ascertained and the matter remains under investigation by the police.
