NEMO issues advisory on TD-16
The NEMO Advisory said that if the Depression continued on its forecast track, “it is expected to become a Tropical Storm and by Friday is expected to be east f Belize, or directly in front of us.”
The NEMO Advisory goes on to inform the public that persons who may be impacted by flooding should “start discussing arrangements to move to higher grounds.”
The NEMO advisory concludes by saying: “do not venture out to sea after Friday, 6th October 2017. All Fishers and people on the Cayes are hereby strongly urged to monitor and track TD 16.”
According to the Miami-based National Hurricane Center, torrential rains are expected over portions of Central America as a result of Tropical Depression 16.
At midday, TD-16 was located 195 south, southeast of Cabo Gracias a Dios on the Nicaragua/Honduras border.
Maximum sustained winds are 35 miles per hour and TD-16 is moving Northwest at 7 miles per hour.
