New OAS Ambassador for Belize
Belmopan, CAYO. Friday, July 9, 2021. Belize’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States, Ambassador Lynn Young has presented his credentials to Secretary General Luis Almagro.
In presenting his credentials, Ambassador Young stated that Belize shares the same values as the OAS in promoting democracy, the fight against poverty and strengthening of peace and security.
The Belizean diplomat said his country remains fully committed to the principles enshrined in the OAS Charter.
In accepting the credentials of Ambassador Young, Secretary General Almagro noted Belize’s good relations with the hemispheric body and highlighted the “privileged vision” and importance of our linkage with the Caribbean and Central America.
Belize has been a member state of the OAS since 1991.
