News Year’s Message From Patrick E. Jones
The year 2013 will undoubtedly be for some, a year of wonderful memories, sterling achievements and accomplishments.
While for some, it will be a sad recollection of not so good, yet irrevocably memorable experiences.
And while no catch phrase or buzz word can adequately express the true sentiments this time of the year evoke, the words of journalist and author Edward Payson Powell come close when he penned:
“The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!”
For me personally, 2013 will be recalled as the year when certain goals were achieved, some deferred, and others commenced. For while there were those who did their endeavor best, sometimes with a smile on their face, put me down; they sorely underestimated the redemptive power of Jesus in my life.
As 2014 dawns, I look towards the coming months with eager anticipation of what the Lord has in store for me.
I especially would like to thank each and everyone for their support in 2013 and pledge to work even harder to keep you in touch with happenings in Belize and around the world.
Thanks to my assistants, Juan Caal and Kimberly Locke for their invaluable effort to help me cover the news. And as we expand in 2014, serving the Belizean people with up-to-the-minute information will remain our main objective, because News happens all the time, and all the time, the people need to know what’s happening.
I remain your humble servant, and thank you for allowing me to continue serving you. Happy New year everyone, and God bless.
