No lock down but quarantine measures across the country
By Patrick E. Jones on March 26, 2020
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Thursday, March 26, 2020. Attorney General Michael Peyrifitte today explained that a Quarantine Order is being enacted for the entire country of Belize.
But it does not mean that the whole country is under a quarantine.
It just means that the measures that have been announced by the Ministry of Health, including social distancing, prohibition of gatherings of 10 or more persons and self isolation by persons returning from an area where there is COVID-19, are to be followed by everyone to ensure the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
The Attorney General explained that “the country is not on lock down. The country has not been quarantined.”
