San Ignacio, CAYO. Wednesday,January 13, 2016. TNC: Prime Minister Dean Barrow is today traveling to Guatemala City, Guatemala to attend the inauguration of ceremony for President-elect Jimmy Morales.
The 46 year old former comedian will be sworn in as the new President of Guatemala on Thursday.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow will join other regional leaders and invited dignitaries including United States Vice President Joe Biden for the inauguration.

In last October’s run-off elections, Jimmy Morales received 67.4% of the votes, beating out former first lady Sandra Torres, who garnered only 32.6% of the votes.
Accompanying Prime Minister Barrow to the inauguration of the new Guatemalan President is the Chief Executive Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister Audrey Wallace and Belize’s Ambassador to Guatemala Alexis Rosado.
Prime Minister Barrow is due back in Belize on Sunday, January 17th.
During his absence, the Minister of National Security John Saldivar will act as Prime Minister until Friday when the Deputy Prime Minister Gaspar Vega returns to the country, at which time he will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.
