Police continue to look for Anne Swaney’s killer
San Ignacio, CAYO. Saturday, February 6, 2016. TNC: The investigation of the murder of American television producer Anne Swaney has gone quiet; but that does not mean that the police has given up on looking for her killer.
Swaney was on vacation in Belize three weeks ago – January 14, 2016 – and was staying at the Nabitunich Resort in the San Jose Succotz village, Cayo district when she was killed.
Her body was found floating in the Mopan River the day after she was reported missing.
From from Benque Viejo del Carmen have been on the case but three weeks after the murder there have been no new developments in the investigation.
On Friday, ABC-7 News-Chicago carried an update on the case and here is the video report:
The Commander of the Western Zone of the Belize Police Department Superintendent Andrew Ramirez is on record as saying that the Anne Swaney murder investigation is “a challenging investigation” that is ongoing, even though the case has dropped out of the news headlines.
“We are trying out utmost to resolve the matter,” Superintendent Ramirez told reporters at the end of January.
