Police identify body found in Selena village, Cayo
Spanish Lookout, CAYO. Tuesday, January 5, 2016. TNC: Police have released more details on the discovery of the decomposed body of a man late last night in Selena village in the Spanish Lookout area of the Cayo district.
An official police report has identified the man as 37 year old Matthiew Klinck, a Canadian national.
Police say they were called out to the area around 8:0 pm and when officers from the San Ignacio police station arrived, they found Klinck’s body about 15 feet from the house and in its initial stage of decomposition.
Police say the body had what appeared to be a cut wound to the left side of the neck.
Furthermore, the police say that Klinck’s house was ransacked. Matthiew Klinck’s body is now under guard where it was found in Selena village and the police pathologist is being taken to the area to conduct an on-site post mortem examination.
Police say they have contacted the Canadian Consulate to notify them via email, of Klinck’s death.
Investigation continues.
