Police seek women as suspects in burglary
Police in Belize City are investigating a burglary; and two women are the main suspects.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon at an apartment on Seagull Street in Belize City.
Jennifer Meighan, 19, reports that she was accosted by two women, one of whom is her sister.
Meighan says that she heard a knock on the door and when she inquired who it was, her sister identified herself.
The victim says that she opened the door slightly and when she realized that it was her sister and another woman whom she knows, she tried to close the door but the duo forced themselves inside the apartment.
Meighan says that her attackers proceeded to gag her, preventing her from making any noise.
They also proceeded to tie her hands and feet and beat her for about 30 minutes.
Meighan says that at the end of the beating, the two women searched her room and stole a digital camera, perfume and a pair of gold earring that was on her chest of drawers.
Police say that Meighan’s injuries have been classified as harm.
Police are now looking for the two women who allegedly perpetrated the burglary and assault.
