Police vehicle overturns, three officers injured
Roaring Creek, CAYO. Monday, February 15, 2016. Three police officers were hurt on Saturday evening when the vehicle in which they were traveling overturned in Roaring Creek village.
Just after 4 pm on Saturday, thirty five year old Constable Mark Rodriguez, twenty four year old Constable Kenroy Pandy and nineteen year old Constable Nadir Mendoza were traveling in a police pickup truck, in pursuit of a suspect.
As they reached in front of the police station in Roaring Creek village, the driver of the pickup truck, PC Rodriguez, swerved to avoid hitting a car that had stopped suddenly in front of them.
As a result of the sudden swerve, PC Rodriguez lost control of the vehicle and overturned, ending up on the banks of the creek not far from the police station and the Roaring Creek bridge.
None of the injuries sustained were life-threatening and reports are that PC Rodriguez suffered abrasions to the face, and complained of back and chest pain.
PC Pandy sustained a large cut wound to his left elbow and forehead, while PC Nadir Mendoza sustained a cut wound to the head.
