Preschool boy knocked down and killed by passenger van in Belize City
A preschool student identified as 3 year old Jahston Terry was killed when he and his brother were knocked down by a van on Wednesday afternoon in Belize City.
According to police reports, Jahston and his 9 year old brother Jaheem Terry, were waiting for a bus in front of the Belizean Chinese Restaurant on Cemetery road around 4:20 pm on Wednesday, when they were knocked down by the van.
The children are both residents of Hattieville village.
Jahston terry died on the spot while Jaheem Terry complained of pain to his left ankle.
Jaheem’s injury has been classified as wounding.
The driver of the van has been identified as Ladyville resident Hubert Martinez, 36.
Police say they have obtained a urine sample from Martinez for analysis and he has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
Hubert Martinez remains in police detention in Belize City.
