President of Taiwan visits Guatemala; Belize next
San Ignacio, CAYO. Tuesday, Match 15, 2016. The president of the Republic of china, Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou, has arrived in Guatemala City, Guatemala on the first leg of his farewell visit to Central America.
President Ma will spend seven days in the region and is scheduled to be in Belize on March 16 for talks with Prime Minister Dean Barrow.
While in Belize, President Ma will also meet with the leaders of St Kits and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who will be arriving in the country in the next couple of days.
The Taiwanese leader is being accompanied by a delegation of 80 senior government officials and business representatives.
He is scheduled to hold talks with Guatemala’s president Jimmy Morales and the president of the Central American Parliament Jose Antonio Alvarado.
