Punta Gorda man guilty of violating curfew
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Friday, April 3, 2020. A Punta Gorda teenager has been arrested, charged and given a hefty fine for violating the curfew.
According to police here, 19 year old Luis Escheverria was intercepted by police around 12:45 am Thursday, April 2, 202 as he rode his bicycle on Charles Westby Street in Punta Gorda town.
According to police, Escheverria was today arraigned in the PG Magistrate’s Court for the offence of breach of curfew.
Escheverria plead guilty to the charge and he was fined $5,000 plus $5 cost of court.
If he fails to pay the fine by August 7, 2020, Escheverria will be sent to jail for 2 years.
Police in Punta Gorda remind the general public that they will be out again in full force tonight and anyone found in breach of the curfew will be arrested and charged.
