The Honorable the member for Belize Rural Central Mrs. Dolores Balderamos Garcia spoke out publicly on Monday about comments directed at her fellow parliamentarian, the member for Mesopotamia, the Honorable Michael Finnegan during a House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday of last week.

Mrs. Balderamos Garcia, speaking at a PUP press conference at Independence Hall, said that the comments directed at her in the House last week “was nothing nice.”

Mrs. Garcia went on to say that “up to now I feel hurted” telling the audience that she considered not ever returning to the House of Representatives.

But the Belize Rural Central representative said that because of the strength of the women of the PUP and the nation, as well as the men who support them “say today that I am more than ever determined to represent the people of Belize Rural Central; to stand up for and be a voice for the women of Belize and to stand for respect and honor and dignity and decorum and proper behavior.”

Mrs. Balderamos Garcia ended her spirited presentation by saying that “I don’t care about ever saying anything again about that misogynist,” referring to the Honorable Finnegan.

Mrs. Balderamos Garcia said that “we must raise the level of discourse because there are too many problems in this country that needs to be addressed.”
