Roaring Creek man shot dead
A man was shot dead this morning in Roaring Creek village, Cayo.
The victim has been identified as Nigel Neal, 34.
Neal, according to initial reports was shot as many as six times by a man who allegedly followed him after he got out of a taxi and was walking home around 7:30 am.
Sources say the shooter arrived just as Neal was getting out of the taxi and followed him, and then opened fire on Neal as he reached in front of his mother’s house.
Reports say that when Neal fell to the ground, the gunman stood over him and fired a few more shots.
After the shooting, the gunman reportedly fled the area and made good his escape into the bushes near the creek side.
A motive for the killing has not yet been determined and police investigations are underway.
