Salvation Army church to choose new worlwide leader
The worldwide Salvation Army Church is preparing to choose a new leader.
This follows the unexpected retirement of General Linda Bond last month. Since June 13th. the Salvation Army has been without a sitting General and the day to day affairs of the worldwide church has been under the leadership of the Army’s Chief of Staff Commissioner Andre Cox.
He will continue as interim leader of the Salvation Army until the High Council chooses a new General.
117 of the Salvation Army’s most senior leaders will be
sequestered at the Renaissance Hotel, Heathrow, London on July 29th following pre-High Council meetings and prayers to choose the man or woman who will take up leadership of the quasi-military structured church.
The retired General Linda Bond served as leader of the Salvation Army for only two years and two months. General Bond was an active Salvation Army Officer, or minister, for 44 years.
