Salvation Army moves closer to choosing new world leader
Five men have accepted the nomination to stand for election as the new world leader of the Salvation Army church.
The 18th High Council of the Salvation Army convened on Monday morning in London, England with the sole purpose of choosing the next General, following the sudden retirement of General Linda Bond in May of this year.
According to a statement from the High Council Communications Officer Major Christine Clement, the candidates who have accepted nomination are Commissioner André Cox, Commissioner Kenneth Hodder, Commissioner James Knaggs, Commissioner Dick Krommenhoek and Commissioner Barry Swanson.
Major Clement says that a sixth candidate, Commissioner Clive Adams declined the nomination.

Good point by the poster above. I can’t recall ever seeing a black person as leader of the salvation army.
