San Ignacio Town. Saturday, April 4, 2015. The annual Municipal Fair in San Ignacio/Santa Elena has started.
The event proper, commenced this morning, as it usually does, immediately after the annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic passed through the twin towns.
The event is being held at the Macal River Park and has activities and attractions for the entire family.
The two-day fair will feature entertainment by Lova Boy and the New Sensation band, in addition to mechanical rides, greasy police, eating contests and other fun activities.
Proceeds from the Municipal Fair will be used for municipal development projects, among them the El Cayo history trail and the cementing of drains in San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
The San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council meanwhile has started its road improvement project in the Kontiki area.
Streets in the area are being upgraded and the work is expected to continue until all the streets have been upgraded.
