San Pedro Tigersharks defeat Cayo Western Ballaz in basketball
San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye. Saturday, April 11, 2015. The San Pedro Tiger Sharks has ended the winning streak for the Cayo Western Ballaz in the ongoing National Elite Basketball League competition.
The Tigersharks needed overtime to defeat the Cayo Western Ballez 79-75 in a game that was played at the Angel Nunez Auditorium in San Pedro Town on Saturday night, April 11.
Even with their first loss of the season, the Cayo Western Ballaz remains atop the standings with 7 victories and 1 defeat. San Pedro Tigersharks is second with 6 victories and 2 defeats; Belmopan Red Taigaz is third and Belize City’s No Limits comes in fourth in the standings.
In a post-game interview, Darwin Leslie for the Tiger Sharks said that he stepped up his game after the coaching staff brought it to his attention that he needed to be more aggressive.
Leslie says that the Tiger Sharks will figure out what’s working for the team and that is where they will focus their attention, noting that certain players are just getting into top playing condition.
For his part, Richard Troyer from the Cayo Western Ballers congratulated the Tiger Sharks on their victory but came out swinging against the caliber of officiating that took place during Saturday’s game.
Troyer described the officiating as “horrendous and one-sided” and challenged the officials to do better as poor officiating “is not good for basketball.”
Troyer stressed that he is not accusing the officials of being biased, but that they need to take some time to review video footage of games they officiate to see what calls them missed or the calls the made right in order to better themselves.
The NEBL season now goes into the all star break.
The All Star game will be played on Saturday night, April 18 at the Sacred Heart Auditorium in San Ignacio Town.
It will feature the North, comprising Orange Walk, Belize City and san Pedro, going up against the south, comprising Belmopan, Dangriga and Cayo.
The All Star game starts at 8 pm.

Hi! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I needed to ask.
Does managing a well-established website like yours require a large amount of work?
I’m brand new to operating a blog however I do write in my journal daily.
I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and feelings
online. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or
tips for brand new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it!
