Schoolboy gunned down in Belize City
Belize City, BELIZE. Wednesday, January 18, 2017. A teenage schoolboy was shot and killed on Tuesday night in Belize City.
The victim has been identified as 15 year old Jaheem Jamal Mahler. Police say that Mahler and a friend were on Iguana Street Extension around 8:45 pm on Tuesday when they were accosted by a man who fatally wounded Mahler.
The murderer’s bullets found their mark on Mahler’s chest, back, face and feet.
Police say Mahler was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:45 pm.
Authorities say that a search of the area where the incident took place was conducted and officer found a 9 millimeter pistol in a drain on Iguana Street Extension.
Police say they have detained one person as their investigation of Tuesday night’s homicide continues.
