Service group helps children going back to school
About one hundred primary school children, mostly from south-side Belize City will find it less stressful to return to classes in September.
That is because the Sunrise Rotary Club of Belize City will be distributing two sets of school bags with school supplies.
The Service Project will see the distribution of 50 school bags to students whose parents are parishioners during Sunday service on Sunday morning at the Port Loyola Baptist Church.
The second set of 50 school bags will be given out on Wednesday of next week to students who take part in the after school program supported by Timmy Stamp. Club members from Sunrise will be present on both distribution dates to hand over the bags to the children.
To cover the cost of the school bags, the Sunrise Rotary Club will be hosting a scavenger hunt on Sunday afternoon, August 31 between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm.
A statement from the Sunrise Rotary Club of Belize says that winners of the scavenger hunt stand to walk away with up to $1,000 in cash.
