Sister Barbara clarifies position of Catholic Public Schools
BELIZE CITY, BELIZE. Friday, September 30, 2016. Twenty four hours after a sensational press release from The Catholic Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan was delivered via email, the management of Catholic Public Schools has issued a stinging rebuke of that document.
In a letter to Minister of Education Patrick Faber, the General Manager of Catholic Public Schools, Sister Barbara Flores categorically states that she had nothing to do with that Thursday morning press release.
According to Sister Barbara, “the release was issued by one Maria Zabaneh who did so on behalf of the Catholic Diocese and without consultation or authorization from Bishop Christopher Glancy, Auxiliary Bishop who is out of the country, and without any consultation with Catholic Public Schools General Manager.”
The GM’s rebuke calls the Zabaneh press release a “gross misappropriation of authority” and assures the Minister of Education that “Catholic Management is in the process of strategizing our actions for the impending BNTU industrial action” on Monday, October 3.
