Stabbing incidents reported on Easter Sunday
Belize City, BELIZE. Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Separate stabbing incidents on Easter Sunday have left two men hospitalized.
The victim of the first incident has been identified as Ezekiel McKoy. Police say that McKoy sustained stab wounds to the body.
He was found lying in an unconscious state on Water Lane just before 3 am on Easter Sunday and was taken to the KHMH for medical treatment.
Exactly who inflicted the stab wounds and why, are now subjects of an ongoing police investigation.
The second stabbing incident happened sometime around 4:30 pm on Easter Sunday.
The victim has been identified as 21 year old Deon Warrior, a resident of Hattieville village, who was stabbed to the back and upper arm.
Police say that their initial investigation reveals that Warrior and the security guard of an establishment at mile 4 on the George Price Highway were parting a fight at the entrance of the establishment involving a man and two women.
Police say that the brother of the man who was involved in the fight arrived in a vehicle and knocked down warrior.
After Warrior was allegedly hit by the vehicle, police say that the driver of the vehicle came out and allegedly stab Warrior and attacked the security guard; then drove off.
The security guard was taken to the Belize Medical Associates Hospital for treatment, while Warrior was admitted to the Karl Heusner Memorial.
Both the security guard and warrior are listed in stable condition.
Police say they have since arrested and charged Jason Williams for the crimes of grievous harm and aggravated assault.
