SUV crashes in front of police station in San Ignacio
San Ignacio, Cayo. Wednesday, August 26, 2015. A late night crash in San Ignacio town has left one person hospitalized in Belize City.
Around 10 o’clock last night, an SUV came down Buena Vista Street, which is beside the San Ignacio police station, clipped a parked vehicle close to the Atlantic Bank fence before crashing into the same fence.
Officer Commanding San Ignacio police Superintendent Andrew Ramirez sent out a brief statement on the incident saying that the red Cherokee “may have had brake problem which caused it to slam into a parked RAV-4” with Belize City license plates.
The driver of the Cherokee, according to Superintendent Ramirez, suffered “some serious injuries” and has been taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Investigations continue.
