Taxi driver murdered in Punta Gorda
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Police in Punta Gorda town are investigating the murder of a taxi driver.
The body of Elridgeville resident 61 year old Antonio Rodriguez was found on the side of a feeder road in the area of the Joe Taylor Creek.
Just after midday on Tuesday, authorities visited the feeder road where they found Rodriguez’ body on the side of the road.
It had multiple stab wounds to the upper body and the neck area.
The Trooper that Rodriguez was driving was found in some bushes about ten yards away from his body.
The police investigation of this homicide is underway and while the exact circumstances surrounding the murder have not yet been ascertained, it does not appear that robbery was a motive.
Police say they found Rodriguez’ licensed firearm was found next to his body.
Investigations continue.
