Teenager stabbed to death in Independence village
Independence village, STANN CREEK. Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Police in Independence village have detained one man pending a murder investigation.
This follows a stabbing incident on Sunday night, which claimed the life of sixteen year old David Chinchilla, Junior.
According to reports, around eight o’clock on Sunday night, Chinchilla, Junior was viciously stabbed to the chest by an eighteen year old, reportedly because of a horse.
Our reports are that the minor and a friend were accosted by a neighbor, an eighteen year old man, who reportedly asked for permission to borrow a horse that was grazing nearby.
When Chinchilla, Junior told the man to leave the horse alone, he reportedly grabbed Chinchilla from behind and stabbed him to the center of his chest.
The injured teen collapsed a short time later and died.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for today – Tuesday – in Belize City, and charges are expected against the detained eighteen year old shortly.
