Teenager’s body found in lagoon in Placencia village
Placencia village, Stann Creek. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. The body of Belize City resident 18 year old George Richard Maskall was found floating in the lagoon on the Placencia Peninsula, Stann Creek district this morning.
Police say Maskall’s family went to the station this morning to make a missing person’s report but just before midday, his body was found floating face down in the lagoon in the Seine Bight area.
Authorities say they observed some injuries on the teenager’s body which was in an advanced state of decomposition, but they are awaiting the results of a postmortem examination to make a determination if foul play was involved in the young man’s demise.
Preliminary indications are that Maskall had gone to Seine Bight village on Holy Thursday.
