Traffic-related charges for Big Falls village resident
Punta Gorda town, Toledo. Wednesday, april 15, 2015. Police in Punta Gorda town have brought charges against a man from Big Falls village in connection with a fatal road traffic incident earlier this week.
Forty one year old John Baptist was arraigned today on charges of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, failure to stop and render aid and failing to report an accident.
Baptist was additionally charged for the offences of driving an unlicensed motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance and driving without being the holder of a driver’s license.
Baptist is accused of knocking down and killing fellow Big Falls villager Jose Mariano Pasqual Aldana.
Aldana’s body was found in the bushes at the side of the Southern Highway in Big Falls village on Monday morning.
A pickup truck suspected of being involved in the fatal incident was found parked near to where Aldana’s body was found.
