Transport officials meet with bus company representatives from Guatemala
BELMOPAN, CAYO. Thursday, September 29, 2016. Minister of Transport Edmond Castro and officials of the Transport Department have met with representatives of the Guatemalan bus company Fronte del Norte.
That bus company is one of the regional companies transiting Belize carrying tourists from neighboring countries.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Transport, the issue of strict compliance with their permit which prohibits Fronte del Norte from picking up passengers within Belize was discussed.
The official release says the meeting held earlier this week was cordial and productive and an assurance was given by Fronte del Norte that the bus company will adhere to the laws of Belize and in particular the regulations set out in their permit to transit Belize.
Fronte del Norte has been transiting Belize for a decade now.
