Murder on the Southern Highway

Bella Vista, TOLEDO. Tuesday, May 30, 2017. A man from Trio village, Toledo was murdered on Sunday night.

Police, responding to information received, found the body of 21 year old Armando Alvarenga on the side of the Southern Highway between miles 45 and 46.

Police say Alvarenga’s body was in the bushes and had multiple gunshot wounds and his head was partially decapitated.

Pictures from the crime scene are too gruesome for publication, and West Vision understands that police found a damaged bicycle, a machete and two expended 9-millimeter shells at the scene.

Authorities have since detained four persons as their investigation of the murder is ongoing.
