Tropical disturbance becomes less organized
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says that the chances of the tropical disturbance near Belize is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone before it moves over land.
Satellite images and surface observations are showing that the system has become less organized.
But there remains a medium probability that the disturbance will become a tropical cyclone once it emerges over the Gulf of Mexico this weekend.
Meanwhile, the fifth named storm of the 2013 Hurricane Season formed today. At 9 am today, Tropical Storm Erin was located near Latitude 14.4 north, Longitude 26.5 west, and moving away from the Cape Verde Islands.
Tropical Storm Erin is moving west northwest at near 15 miles per hour. Tropical Storm Erin is carrying maximum sustained winds of near 40 miles per hour.
