Two men arrested and charged for attacking “Fawda”
Police have arrested and charged two men following a report by community activist Phillip “Fawda” Henry that he was beaten up early last Friday morning in Belize City.
The men arrested and charged are Brian Audinett, 31 and Allan Kelly, 30.
Audinett and Kelly were formally arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday where they were read charges of threatening words, insulting words and common assault.
Police reports say Audinett and Kelly were jointly charged for the crime of harm, wounding and assaulting a police officer.
That officer the duo allegedly attacked was Police Constable #1366 Wilbert Chi.
Audinett and Kelly were both offered and met bail of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount. They are both to reappear in the Magistrate’s Court on August 28.
Henry alleges that on Friday morning he was buying tacos near the former Novelo’s Bus terminal when he was accosted and assaulted.
An off-duty policeman who went to Henry’s assistance was also allegedly assaulted.
