Two murders reported in Camalote village
Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in Camalote village on Monday evening and night.
The first killing happened just after 5 pm yesterday and claimed the life of Juan Olmedo, 27.
Police say Olmedo and his common-law wife were at home when an armed and masked intruder entered.
The intruder demanded money and police say their investigation shows that when Olmedo refused to honor the demand for money, the gunman fired three shots, fatally wounding Olmedo.
Police say when they arrived at the murder scene, they found Olmedo’s body in his kitchen with three gunshot wounds under his left armpit.
Just over three hours later, police were back in Camalote village to collect the body of another murder victim.
The second homicide victim has been identified as Oscar Leonel Benitez, 37.
According to police reports, Benitez appeared to be riding his bicycle on a dirt when he was fatally wounded.
Police reports say Benitez sustained three gunshot wounds to the face.
Police investigations of both murders continue.
