UDP standard bearer “disappointed” at the burning of his constituency office
Friday, October 23, 2015. Belmopan, Cayo. Police in Belmopan continue to investigate the late Thursday night fire that gutted the constituency office of UDP Cayo South standard bearer Ralph Huang.
Today, Huang and the UDP Cayo South Committee issued a short press statement expressing disappointment at what they call the “illegal burning of our political office located in Camalote Village.”
The official release says that the campaign of the UDP Cayo South committee “is focused on victory for the people of Cayo South who deserve leadership and development.”
The statement says that “non-violence and positive campaign” will continue despite last night’s fire, which is suspected of being a case of arson.
The statement ends by saying that “we categorically oppose the violent, illegal activities and desperate actions of the perpetrator(s) of this incident of arson. We ask that our supporters desist and restrain themselves from engaging in any act of retaliation.”
