Winners of the patriotic song competition announced
The 2013 National Song Competition was held on Saturday night, August 10th at the Memorial Park in Belize City. At the end of the competition, three Belizean artists walked away with top prizes in each of three categories.
A statement from the National Celebrations Commission says that the competition saw three junior entries, ten in the senior/patriotic song category and five in the carnival song category.
The winners are: Jael August in the Junior category who took home $1,500 and a trophy.
In the Patriotic song competition Kernelle Parks, also known as Nello Player too first place with “ Da Belize Eh Deh” and along with it $6,000 and a trophy, in addition to a music video production and the opportunity to represent Belize at a regional competition.
In the Carnival song competition TR Shine captured first place with “Kick off the Carnival” and took home $6,000, a trophy and will also get the opportunity to represent Belie at a regional competition. Congratulations to the winners.
