Woman attacked as she slept in bed
A man from Roaring Creek village is in police detention pending charges of attempted murder.
The man, a 31 year old, is accused of stabbing a woman multiple times as she slept in her bed on Saturday night.
Joanna Longsworth received cut wound to the right side of her lower face, lower neck, back of her neck and her throat.
Longsworth was unable to tell police what happened to her because of the severity of her injuries, but authorities say she wrote on a piece of paper that while she was sleeping, she felt pain to the back of her neck.
When she got up, Longsworth wrote that the man, whom she recognized and identified to the police, continues to stab her.
At the same time, Longsworth wrote on the paper that she heard two girls screaming out as her attacker said to her “you wah dead.”
Longsworth reported that the last thing she remembered was collapsing at her front door.
